Born in April 2003, Leah Goulding has been a proud resident of Caledonia for over 20 years. Her deep roots in the community have given her an intimate understanding of the town and its intricacies. As a Caledonia local for her entire life, Leah embodies the spirit of small-town living and possesses a genuine passion for making a positive impact on her community.
Leah's journey in the workforce began at a young age when she took up a part-time job at Tim Horton's, a beloved Canadian coffee shop chain. Through this experience, she gained valuable insights into customer service and honed her interpersonal skills. As Leah transitioned into adulthood, she sought out opportunities that would allow her to contribute to the well-being of Caledonia in a more significant way.
Her next endeavour led her to the parks department of Haldimand County, where she worked diligently to maintain and groom the public grounds. With a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic, Leah played a crucial role in ensuring that the community had beautiful and well-maintained parks to enjoy. Her dedication to her work and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for her fellow Caledonians quickly became evident.
Leah's passion for working with the community continued to grow, prompting her to take on a role as an Emergency Instructor for the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. In this position, she had the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Caledonia. By imparting valuable knowledge and skills, Leah helped shape the academic journey of young minds, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Leah pursued higher education at Assumption College in Brantford. She graduated with Honours, a testament to her academic prowess and dedication to her studies. Currently, Leah is embarking on a new academic journey at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she is studying the science of Sociology. This field of study allows her to apply her understanding of social dynamics to her role as the Information and Tourism Officer at the Caledonia Chamber of Commerce.
As the Information and Tourism Officer, Leah utilizes her micro-surveying tactics and engages in informed discussions with members and visitors of the community. Her goal is to gain a deep understanding of the needs and wants of Caledonia, ultimately working towards building a consensus that will shape the future of the town. Leah's passion for her work and her dedication to her community shines through in her efforts to showcase Caledonia as the gateway to Haldimand County.
